Eid al-Adha 1446 AH/2025

Assalamualeikum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuhu.

I pray this message finds you in a state of sincere devotion to Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala), prepared to sacrifice anything in pursuit of His pleasure—our ultimate purpose in life.

The Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) is pleased to announce that Eid al-Adha 1446 AH / 2025 will be observed on Friday, June 6, 2025, following the Day of Arafah on Thursday, June 5, 2025. ICNA Canada follows the Fiqh Council of North America, which adheres to the moon-sighting criteria established by the European Council for Fatwa and Research (ECFR).

As we enter the most blessed ten days of the year, let us renew our gratitude and submission to Allah (SWT). These days are a divine opportunity to increase in righteous deeds, as emphasized in the hadith of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), narrated by Imam Bukhari:

“There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.”
(Bukhari) “ما من أيام العمل الصالح فيها أحب إلى الله من هذه الأيام العشر”

Eid al-Adha and the days of Ayyam at-Tashreeq are times of celebration, reflection, and remembrance of the profound sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son Ismail (AS). Their unwavering obedience to Allah serves as a timeless example for all of us.

Hajj, the pinnacle of spiritual unity, symbolizes the strength and solidarity of our Ummah. It reminds us of our collective responsibility to stand against injustice and support those who are oppressed. As we engage in extra acts of worship during these sacred days, let us remember our brothers and sisters around the world—especially in Gaza and Rafah—who are enduring immense hardship. Our hearts ache with their pain, and we pray that Allah (SWT) grants them protection, relief, and ultimate liberation. May He ease their suffering and accept all efforts made in their support.

Let us seize this sacred time when rewards are multiplied, and sins are forgiven. May Allah (SWT) accept your good deeds, sacrifices, and prayers.

The legacy of Ibrahim and Ismail (peace be upon them) teaches us to rise above our desires, to understand and implement the teachings of Islam, to share its message with others, and to live every moment in obedience to our Creator.

Wishing you and your families a joyous and blessed Eid al-Adha.
May Allah (SWT) accept your sacrifices and shower you with His infinite mercy and blessings. Aameen.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Your Brother,
Usama Labib
