Ustadh Hisham Abu Yusuf is a UK-based Islamic scholar, teacher, and community leader with a formal degree in Islamic Studies (BA) from Al-Azhar University in Cairo. He has also pursued traditional study under various scholars, with interests in the Qurʾanic sciences and fiqh. In addition to his religious scholarship, he holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s in Senior Leadership and has worked in leadership roles both in startups and large corporations. He has served as a Muslim Chaplain in higher education, an Imam, Khatib, and teacher for young adults over many years. He is the Founder (or among the main instructors) of Roots Academy UK, through which he teaches essentials, delivers lectures, mentors university students, and engages in daʿwah and community building.
